＜p＞During the Vietnam War the New Zealand Defence Force deployed a number of individuals, a number of small military elements, an artillery battery (on a rotational basis) and nine infantry rifle companies in support of the Australian Task Force role.＜/p＞
＜p＞This is the story about one of those elements, 1 Platoon, Victor 6 Company, 4RAR/NZ Anzac Battalion. In 1971, during Operation Hermit Park, four New Zealand servicemen demonstrated outstanding gallantry rescuing wounded Australian servicemen while under heavy and intense enemy fire.＜/p＞
＜p＞Such injustice prompted the author and the Company Commander of Victor 6 to seek proper recognition from the New Zealand Government for over fifty years.＜/p＞
